A Night In ParadiseThis is a picture of is the Atlantic Ocean on the coast of Holden Beach, North Carolina in the evening/sunset. I chose this Composition because I wanted a landscape picture of the entire wave. The feeling I’m trying to convey through this photo is the warm soft colors of the sky contrasting with the cool blue of the ocean. The feeling specifically is the longing for the ocean, how it is always moving. It never stops making waves, just like life doesn’t stop. I tried to capture the beauty of God’s creation. The challenge I faced was capturing the waves without them becoming blurry in the picture. The triumph was capturing the entire wave as well as symmetrically lining up the ocean with the bottom of the photo.

Bathed In the SunThis is a picture of a bushel of flowers on Myrtle Beach in North Carolina. The bright yellow was too pretty for me to pass up the opportunity of a photo. I chose the composition of this photo at a different angle. The angle I chose was the way the wind was blowing, and the wind was blowing towards me. The message I’m trying to send is metaphorical. Everyone is at different points in their life, so don’t value/judge their life because you don’t know when they will fully bloom. The feeling I am trying to convey is happiness and joy of nature. Challenges I faced include me trying to decide on an angle, considering that I wanted to capture the beauty of the flowers collectively. The triumphs I had were getting close enough to the flowers to have it become clear and the background blurry, adding emphasis.

Seaside EscapeThis photo was taken in midday on the coast of Holden beach, North Carolina. I chose the composition because I wanted to not only capture the waves of the ocean, but capture the peculiar clouds in the background on the horizon. The feeling I am trying to convey is the soothing and serene feeling the ocean gives when the water is touched and the sand is stuck in between toes. The difficulties I faced were both preventing the waves from being blurry and also aiming my camera so the lighting wasn’t shadow-like. If I changed the angle of my camera the lighting would also change. The triumphs I experienced were capturing the clouds like I wanted to. A bonus was capturing the lines of water the ocean leaves on the sand. It adds a certain sharpness to the photo.
